With years of experience in Chiropractic care, Dr. Michael Henze, DC. is dedicated to helping patients in Boise, Idaho achieve optimal health and wellness.
I’m Dr. Michael Henze, founder of Henze Chiropractic & Wellness in Boise, and I’ve been honored to serve this incredible community for over 26 years.
I graduated cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1996 and have held multiple leadership roles throughout my career—including serving as District 2 Representative and Vice President of the Idaho Association of Chiropractic Physicians, a member of the IACP Insurance Committee, an ICA State Representative, and Vice Chair of the Idaho State Board of Chiropractic Physicians.
I learned Spanish while on a church mission in Chile from 1983 to 1984, and for over 30 years, I’ve stayed active in my church, the Boy Scouts of America, and youth athletics as a coach and umpire.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me wakesurfing, off-roading, or enjoying the outdoors. I bring that same energy, passion, and dedication to every patient I serve.
If you're ready to restore your health and feel your best, I can help you.
I had a constant headache for most of my life. It wasn’t a once in a while headache—it was EVERY SINGLE DAY… And here’s the messed-up part… I didn’t tell anyone.
I mean, what was the point? My parents had already taken me to every doctor they could think of or was suggested. Neurologists, specialists, you name it. Everyone ran their tests and came back with the same answer: There’s nothing wrong with you.
So eventually, I stopped talking about it, even though I suffered with headache pain every single day.
It’s strange what your brain will normalize when there’s no other option.
Years later, I ended up in chiropractic school. And get this—I had never been to a chiropractor in my life. I didn’t have neck pain. No car accident injuries. I had no reason to go. Honestly, I thought chiropractic was just for people who threw out their backs or had neck pain. So I didn’t think it would apply to me.
So I’m sitting in class one day, and one of my classmates—a second-generation chiropractor—said, “You should go get a chiropractic check-up exam like you get your teeth checked every year.”
So I scheduled an appointment with a local chiropractor. Now to be honest, I didn’t think a chiropractor would be able to help with my headaches. I really just wanted to see what an exam was like because I figured it would help me in my studies.
But what happened next changed my life forever.
During the exam the doctor said, “Do you ever get headaches?”
I was completely blown away because I purposely didn’t mention my headaches on the paperwork so I responded, “Maybe—why do you ask??”
The doctor pointed to a small area on my X-ray and said “Because based on this, I’d be surprised if you didn’t.”
That was the first time in my life someone had looked at me and understood something I’d stopped trying to explain.
I was stunned and didn’t have a clue what to say. How could this doctor look at the x-rays and so quickly identify that I was suffering with headaches?
And even though I was skeptical, I decided to get my first chiropractic adjustment that day.
And two weeks later, my headache was completely gone…
Gone.
After years of constant pain, after thinking this was just the way life was gonna be… it was gone in just two weeks.
This is when I discovered that the body can heal itself with a small and simple adjustment of the spine.
This is why I became a chiropractor.
I’ve seen it too many times to count… people who were told they had no other options—except medication, injections, or surgery—walk into our office completely hopeless.
Like Derek, a man in his late 60s who could barely walk without excruciating pain in his feet and legs. The pain was so bad that he was losing his balance when he walked so he would use a cane in one hand and his wife would hold him up. His goal wasn’t anything big—he just wanted to sleep through the night and maybe get off a few medications.
But after just a few treatments, he was walking by himself. Taking daily walks. Back at work after years off. He didn’t just reduce pain—he finally got his life back.
Or Jan, who was in her mid-70s, who came to us with severe low back and leg pain (sciatica)—the kind that robs you of your life. Jan had tried everything to reduce her lower back pain. After two weeks, she was walking with her husband again, traveling, and the best part is that she finally got her life back.
And then there is Angel—-who suffered with severe neck pain, headaches and fatigue for twenty two years. She was taking an unsafe amount of pain medication just to get through the day.
After I began adjusting her, the constant neck pain was gone and the headaches disappeared. But the real transformation? Her energy came back. She said, “I feel like myself again.”
